An addition to the rear of a Victorian weatherboard house in Ascot Vale.
The design reorients the rear of the house to allow solar access to the new rear living area and kitchen. This orientation also allows the outdoor spaces to connect well with the living areas and the existing major landscape elements. The plan is informed by the existence of a series of existing trees and an old wisteria vine which was to be kept as part of the composition. A first floor bedroom with a roof terrace were also added. These spaces relate to the canopy of the large tree in the rear yard. |
